"Strings of Passion"
I made this piece for my Honors Art lll class. It is 8"x10". This prompt is all about our passions. The requirement was to create an anatomically correct heart expressing our passion. This artwork greatly displays my skills because of the large amount of texture that I added with the different
materials. I used a large amount of value,
as well as many types of lines to achieve the
amount of form, value, texture, and
emphasis. This piece is made from
watercolor pens and this was the first
time I used them. I chose to experiment
with them because of their super vibrant
colors.
I commonly work with paints and pencils.
On the contrary, I love to use mixed media
because I truly believe that it can help
express and further create what you want
to capture in your art. I even added the
engraved design that's around the sound
hole on my ukulele, which is around the
heart itself. The background is filled with
sheet music of classical pieces that I have
already learned to play or I'm learning right now.

I create art because I think it's the best way I can
show what I'm thinking and express myself in addition to my personality. My style is very focused on realism. You can commonly see this in this piece ("Strings of Passion") as well as"Running Wild," "Pucker Up," and many others. I'm inspired by what is in front of me on this planet: the people, the environment, my hobbies, and God's gifts.
